Olive Pomace Carrier Oil - 1000ml - 100% Pure Pomace is a product of steam and solvent extraction of olive oil from the flesh and pits left over from the initial pressure extraction of the olive oil. Pomace cannot be called 'olive oil' as it is a residual product and production does not conform to the strict standards laid down in the International Olive Oil Agreement of 1959. Pomace is not for consumption and is only recommended for industrial or soap making purposes. Pomace is used in cold pressed soap making as it contains a high percentage of unsaponifiables binding the other oils used in the process so the mixture sets quickly. Care needs to be taken when adding fragrant or essential oil as these also cause saponification to happen quickly.
